Likely, among your neighborhood hiking trail there will be a some popping up. Usually, they tend to grow where they have the best access to water, so any trails in washes or downhill will have them popping up.

Where To Spot Wildflowers

Superstition Mountain

If you want to see more a bountiful sea of wildflowers, then the Superstition Mountains is where you need to head out to.

Some popular places are in the Lost Dutchman State Park ($7 parking fee), especially towards the beginning of the Flat Iron Trail. As the trail leads towards the base of the mountain a sea of orange and yellow poppies can typically be seen fluttering in the wind.

Lakes

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a boat. Get in the car and take a short road trip to any nearby lake, such as Lake Bartlett pictured here. Picachio State Park

Another popular place to spot beautiful wildflowers is about an hour south of Phoenix at the Picacho Peak State Park. You don’t have to hike the entire trail since it’s likely the wildflowers will be on lower grounds. However, if you do decide to hike to the peak it would be wise to bring gloves as the trail has steep sections that require holding onto cables.
