April’s Full Moon – 2020

Tomorrow evening, as the soft orange and yellow glow of the sunset dips below the horizon line, an intense Super Moon will be emerging up along the Eastern horizon. And, not just any Super Moon, this will be the years, biggest and brightest Moon.

We have numerous Super Moons throughout the year (next one is in May), but this month’s moon will be the closest distance to Earth, meaning that no other Super Moon during this year will look at stupendous as this moon does.

Pink Moon

Every month each full moon has it’s own name and this Aprils’ Full Moon is known as the Pink Moon.

I know what you’re thinking and…..no, the moon will not have a pinkish tint to it. This moon has been named Pink due to the pink flowers that appear during this flowery spring season.

While some hikers are choosing to stay off the hiking trails during this COVID-19 epidemic, we will all want to be looking out to the East at around 7:35 PM (Arizona Time) when this moon will be the closet to Earth. (Although, it’ll still be impressive to view throughout anytime during the night as well.)

Nature Heals

Regardless of whether you’re on the hiking trails or not, it’s important for our health to get outside and sit with nature. As quoted by Edward Abbey, “Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit”.

Now, more than ever, we need to ensure our human spirit is in the best place with the world.

Enjoy the Pink Moon.

Stay Safe. Stay healthy. Stay Happy.
